False Doctrine
Doctrine is what we believe. Anything we believe which does not agree completely with Scripture, is False Doctrine. That is why Yahweh has so much to say about how we handle His Word. Essentially, we are not to go beyond what is written which if you think about it, is extremely limiting.
Throughout Scripture we are warned to persevere in sound doctrine and remain faithful until salvation. We read that the time will come, and has come, when there will be false teachings and false doctrines proclaimed as truth in household of God.
Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers (1 Timothy 4:16).
In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear (2 Timothy 4:1-3).
Read and understand what God is saying here. He is not saying the pastors are the bad guys for preaching false doctrine which God does say in other places. However, God is saying that we (the people) will not put up with sound doctrine because sound doctrine is not what we want to hear.
